Darlene Brown-Weaver

Board Member

Darlene Brown-Weaver is a New Orleans native who has been a resident of Houston, Texas since 2001. Her professional experience includes over 13 years of federal and local government experience as a community planner, grant writer, project manager. Ms. Weaver has over 15 years of non-profit expertise as well as serving as a consultant in other arenas. She is currently employed with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in community planning and development.

As an entrepreneur, she is the owner of Grants Unlimited, which specializes in grant writing and non-profit consulting.

She is a graduate of Louisiana State University (1994) with a bachelor’s in communications and public relations and earned a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional planning from the University of New Orleans (1998). Her special interests include community projects, which touch the lives of the underserved, at-risk and disadvantaged populations.
